The impact of our choices on the environment

Everyone on this earth has a different set of believes and that leads them to make different choices in life and that's ok (well except for the situations that you wind up doing something horrendous). It's a lot of times what makes us different and unique. However, even with keeping that in mind, we need to have a full understanding of the consequences of our choice.

I watched a documentary this past weekend called Cowspiracy and boy was it eye opening. I am not sure where your stand is on eating animals and whatever it is, I respect it. It's a personal choice. But the amount of meat and dairy consumed around the world is literally killing this planet. Cars, pollution, over using water etc. can't touch the amount of damage that factory farming is doing. We don't have another planet for the time being so people need to remember that. You can either make choices so that future generation can either struggle to live on a planet that is crumbling or be able to live and enjoy this world while they walk on it.

Am I saying everyone should give up animals? No, but everyone could afford to cut down on their consumption. We could also choose to get meat that is local (yay for supporting the local farmers) to cut the destruction done to the rain forest and the pollution from transporting it. Reality is factory farmed meat (or fish) isn't all that great for you anyways compared to pasture raised, grass fed, meat.

Watch the documentary and think about it. This very earth depends on it.

The truth about this world

Remember that at the end of the day this world is fading away. The only thing that is going to remain at the end is him.

"The world is passing away, and also its lusts; but the one who does the will of God lives forever."
1 John 2:17

The light of the world

Again Jesus spoke to them, saying, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” John 8:22

Late night thinking

I sit with the silence of the night, the only noise I hear is the wind whipping around and the sound of my keystrokes. I can’t deal with that empty-nagging feeling. I can’t deal with not knowing the truth. It isn’t so simple in the areas of life where it isn't white or black. The grey areas are messy and confusing. Can there even be absolute truth in the gray areas? Or is the truth in those areas only based off of what we choose to believe?

Just a late night thought.

Hope

It's so peaceful sometimes. In those rare moments of stillness. It's as if the world is asleep and you suddenly notice the beauty in the simplicity of it all.

In those instances the darkness doesn't seem so bad. It becomes almost manageable and dare do I say... worth it?

Right here and right now

I had caught myself doing this the other day.. and had to stop myself. How many times have you said you will starting living, will be happy, will do this or that, tomorrow -- or when something changes? STOP!

Stop saying that you live tomorrow...
"when I get this promotion"
"when the chaos of life settles down"
"when I lose the weight"
"when I am out of debt"
"When my kids grow up"
"Fill in the blank"

When I, When I, When I...

That tomorrow isn't guaranteed, tomorrow in general isn't guaranteed. You need to live right here and right now, our days are numbered and you are missing out on your life.

If you died tomorrow do you really think you would care that you weren't making that extra 10 grand a year? No. You would be mad at yourself for wasting your precious time based on circumstances. The circumstances of tomorrow that never came.

Right here, right now -- remember that.

True Love

Love is always equated with something in this life, whether you realize it or not... it is. Due to this factor I find myself asking will God really love me no matter what? Heck, I don't even love myself half the time if I am being really honest.

In this world love comes with a price tag, always, whether we choose to see it on a conscious level or not. That's why my brain gets so confused. How can a love be so selfless and loves you regardless of the return rate? Really though, that's a beautiful thing and we should bask in it.

A simple thought

A quick and simple thought.

Life is just too short

it is fleeting quickly

& there is too much beauty in the world to not to smile

despite the circumstances.
